Juniors - How Parents can Help
It is important that you as parents understand the important input required by yourselves for Interclub players. ALL Parents assist in the transport & supervision of the team on a rostered basis, generally once every 4 to 5 weeks.
As the team supervisor for the week, parents must stay with the team for the duration of the match, ensure the smooth running of the match & return team members and results sheet to the club upon completion of the game. A full list of Canterbury Tennis rules & parental roles are to be found in the team folder which the captain brings to the weekly game.
IN addition to AND as a change from previous years each team will need to nominate 1 parent as Team Manager. This takes the place of the captain's role in previous years, & will ensure that all team members are informed of coaching times, draws & any other relevant team information. Parents, it is vital that this role is filled prior to the start of the competition. Each team will still have a Captain, nominated by Stu, responsible for all on court duties on the day of play only.
Further, there is a network of approximately 10 Junior Supervisors required that are the first contact for captains if any issues arise, such as replacements. Each of these supervisors is responsible for 4-6 teams & ensures their smooth operation. Additionally there are 3 Supervisors that assist in dispatching teams from the club Friday & Saturday. If you feel you would be able to assist in one of these roles please advise Megan Bruynel the Junior Administrator. It is vital to the operation of Junior Interclub that these supervisory roles are filled & we appreciate any assistance.
