Gold ClubMark Accreditation
The ClubMark award recognises that the Waimairi Tennis Club has the necessary components and systems in place to operate efficiently and effectively and this explains why the Club continues to provide the high standard of services to such a large membership.
The club earned the award in October last year after putting in place any outstanding policies the ClubMark coordinator Lorraine McLeod deemed necessary to reach the Gold level.
Lorraine McLeod who is based at Sport Canterbury said there wasn't much extra work required by the administrators to get the club up to the required standard. Lorraine acknowledged that the club is well administered and already promotes healthy lifestyles to its members.
ClubMark covers a wide range of criteria which includes planning, financial planning and sustainability, volunteer, coach and umpire management, acknowledgement and education. ClubMark encourages the club to engage the community and local schools in activities while promoting the Smokefree message, responsible alcohol use and provide healthy food at club events.
"The club is a forward thinking organisation and keen to retain the strong membership base that it now has and realises the vital part the community plays in this," Lorraine McLeod said.
Club Administration Vacancy (July 2010)
A Club Administrator is required to manage the operations of our Club. The position is a part time one reporting to the Club's Management Committee. Whilst it is year round it is primarily a summer role.
Duties would commence in early August. Limited work would be required during the summer school holidays. The position would ideally suit a person with some tennis or sports administration qualification or experience but this is not essential. Computer skills are essential.
The role is split into two: Junior Administration and Club Administration. Duties for both parts are attached.
Remuneration will reflect qualifications and experience and will be discussed at interview.
